A jackshaft garage door opener, also commonly known as a wall-mount garage door opener is a garage door opener type that typically mounts to the wall of your garage just next to the garage door. It connects to the torsion bar right above the garage door.

Another type called the overhead mount, as the name suggests, hangs from the ceiling and has a trolley attached to a long chain or rod as it opens the garage door.
